†. Praise be to Jesus! Praise be to the Blessed Mother!
On May 8, 2025, the second day of the conclave, Cardinal Robert Francis Prevost of the United States was elected as the 267th pope, taking the name Leo XIV.
Pope Leo XIV, who has always shown special concern for the poor, spent over 20 years serving in the slums of Peru, caring for migrants and small communities on the outskirts of the city.
In 2015, he received Peruvian citizenship and was appointed as a bishop. In 2023, Pope Francis appointed him as the Prefect of the Dicastery for Bishops, entrusting him with the key role of overseeing the selection of bishops worldwide.
We pray that God's grace and peace may abundantly rest upon the apostolic ministry of the new Pope with the guidance of the Holy Spirit.
Through Pope Leo XIV, may the Holy City of God—Naju Shrine—be granted official recognition with the Nihil Obstat, so that countless clergy, religious, and laypeople from all over the world may come to Naju Shrine, learn and live out the Five Spiritualities, and thus help bring about the Kingdom of the Lord on this earth. United with Julia, we earnestly pray for this intention. Amen.
