At 7:35 a.m. local time on April 21, 2025, His Holiness Pope Francis was called into the arms of the Lord.
Pope Francis was born on December 17, 1936, in Flores, near Buenos Aires, Argentina. He was ordained a priest in 1969 and was elevated to the rank of Cardinal by Pope John Paul II in 2001.
In March 2013, he was elected as the 266th Pope—the first in history from South America—and faithfully served as the Holy Father for 12 years.
Let us pray together that His Holiness Pope Francis may enjoy eternal rest in the embrace of the Lord and the Blessed Mother, and be welcomed into Heaven.
