but when I practiced the Five Spiritualities,

He Came Back To Me!

My name is Maria Lee from Jeomchon, South Korea.

My husband is a doctor who runs a hospital, and he had an affair with a woman from a tea house. 

What hurt me most was that when he bought a ring, he bought the same one for both me and that woman, and he even bought identical clothes for us. Even when I pleaded with him to agree to a divorce, he refused.

Then I came to Naju and shared my situation with Mama Julia. She told me this:

Even though your husband is unfaithful, say to him, "My dear, how much you must suffer having someone like me." Massage his legs and say, "It is hard enough to take care of one woman; how exhausting it must be to take care of two!" Give him a massage, wash his feet, and wipe his body with warm water. Even if you dislike it, entrust that feeling to Jesus and try to practice love toward your husband.

At the beginning, it was very hard, but I completely entrusted myself to Jesus and treated my husband well, believing what Mama Julia told me, that an echo of love always returns. Meanwhile, I offered everything up and continued coming to Naju.

I was able to forgive my husband through Mama Julia's teachings. When I sincerely accepted "This too is my fault", I could truly forgive him. I felt no hatred at all toward the woman involved. When Mama Julia told me what to do, I accepted it with Amen and carried it out exactly.

Then something happened. That woman wanted to live with my husband, and no matter how she tried to have his child, whenever she conceived, she miscarried. Then one day, my husband suddenly said, I decided to break up with her. He said he could no longer stand the sight of her.

Then I began to feel pity for her. Would I have felt that way if I had not known Our Lady of Naju? People say the most hateful rival is the mistress. Yet because I knew Our Lady of Naju and Mama Julia’s life, I pitied her so much that I treated her like my own daughter and even arranged her marriage.

I helped prepare her wedding necessities. As soon as she conceived, I helped care for her baby, gave her clothes and food, and even supported her living expenses out of compassion. Even now, I occasionally invite her for meals and buy things for her.

Before, when I could not accept it as my fault, I felt wronged, angry, and full of resentment. But once it truly became My fault in my heart, I no longer hated either my husband or the woman. Instead, I felt compassion for her. 

I believe that because I accepted everything with "It's My fault", my husband also came to dislike the affair and ended the relationship.

Later, after she married, she came to me in tears, saying that her own husband had begun having an affair. She asked, "How did you endure it back then? It must have been so hard! Why did you endure it?" She asked how long she would have to wait and how much more she would have to endure for her husband to return.

I told her, "It depends on you, on how much love you are willing to give to him." And I added, "Only when you die to yourself (ego) will your husband return more quickly."

Through this experience, I have come to deeply realize that the Five Spiritualities of Naju are truly great and infinite graces.

During Mama Julia’s talk, Maria Lee testified about that grace.  

For all the graces I have received, I give thanks for Mama Julia’s prayers and for her suffering offered in reparation, and through the Blessed Mother, I give all glory to the Lord. Amen! Amen!

PS. Miracles I witnessed in Naju:

June 29, 1995

Mama Julia warned us that something would soon happen in our country. After she went inside, I called my family. My son answered, shouting, "Mom! Mom! The Sampoong Department Store has collapsed! Everything is in chaos!" (That day at around 5:57 p.m., the Sampoong Department Store in Seoul collapsed, causing 1,445 employees and customers to be injured or killed as the building came down)

June 30, 1995

During the 10th anniversary of Our Lady’s Tears in Naju, I arrived at the former chapel around 4:00 p.m. As I reached the back door, Mama Julia was coming out, and at that very moment we met face to face in the courtyard.

Suddenly, she pulled me tightly into an embrace. She began speaking to me, but I could hardly understand her words. It seemed she could not speak clearly at all. Then she showed me her tongue.

Her tongue looked terribly wounded. It was extremely thin, as if only the outer layer remained, deeply hollowed out. The wounded area was about the size of a 500-won coin, round like a Sacred Host, torn open and deeply gouged. Although a tongue is normally thick, hers looked painfully thin, as if it had been peeled away. It appeared so severely torn that it seemed blood could begin flowing at any moment. She tried to speak, saying Mm… mm… mm…, but she was clearly in immense pain.

I asked her, "Mama Julia, how long has it been like this?" She replied that it had been over two weeks, perhaps around fifteen days. I then asked, "How are you able to eat in this condition?" Though her words were difficult to understand, I could make out that she said she was drinking a powdered grain drink through a straw.

She explained that she had received this suffering in reparation for souls who judge others with words, sow division, and are heading toward hell, so that they might repent. Jesus had asked her whether she was willing to accept the suffering of hell, and she answered that she would accept it for the reparation of souls who are going to hell because of sins committed with the tongue. She said that in hell there were beings using red-hot, coal-like tongs to scrape tongues as they moved about. Because she accepted suffering for souls heading toward hell, her own tongue had taken on this horrific condition. Seeing the state of her tongue, so dreadful and filled with pain, I wept uncontrollably.

After that, we went to the Naju Parish Church. That was the day when the Eucharistic Miracle occurred through Mama Julia. I was seated one or two rows in front of her. Suddenly, there was murmuring behind me. When I turned around, I saw that the Eucharist had changed. Foreign pilgrims hurriedly recorded with their video cameras, overwhelmed with grace, and some priests were even weeping.

A priest who had just finished celebrating Mass came out and announced, The Eucharist that Julia received has now changed.

July 1, 1995

Mama Julia had also told us, A great grace will be given, so do not fall asleep.

Taking her words seriously, I drank a lot of coffee to stay awake. That evening at the chapel, seven Eucharistic Hosts descended.

I had always imagined that if the Eucharist were to descend, it would happen silently. Instead, the sound was louder than thunder. I saw it clearly with my own eyes.
