I used to be a professor who lectured on health. Yet, I couldn’t take control of my own body and couldn’t heal myself.

For over ten years, I was in so much pain that my left hand could raise like this, but my right hand couldn’t. It ached so deeply and sharply here that I couldn’t sleep at night. The pain would startle me awake repeatedly. If you haven’t experienced the agony of sleeplessness, you wouldn’t understand.

But now, can you see? Both hands up! 🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻

I was as astonished as if I were witnessing a magic show, and my wife was shocked, too. I never imagined that the pain I had endured for over a decade could be gone in just one day.

Since May, my friends and brothers in faith had been saying, “Let’s go to Naju. Let’s go.” But I kept putting it off. Eventually, with their constant encouragement, I thought to myself, “Alright, I’ll go once to say hello, and then I won’t have to go again.” So, I went for the first time on the 19th, the 38th Anniversary of Our Lady shedding Tears of Blood.

As a scientist in the fields of engineering and science, I never believed in miracles. I thought faith was just a psychological refuge, something that brought inner peace through prayer.

But after coming to Naju and praying, I started to think that faith might be something beyond science, that there could be something I don’t understand. So, I decided, “Let’s give it a real try!” and embraced the faith wholeheartedly.

Before coming on the 19th, I had an appointment on the 18th at the hospital. Every Friday, I had to get an injection in my neck. If I didn’t, the pain would be constant. It was scheduled on the kakao messenger of my phone, but I didn’t go. In my heart, I thought, “If prayers in Naju are truly effective, I’ll go and see for myself.”

Before then, if I missed the shot, the pain would always return the next day. The pain was so intense that I had undergone ultrasound, CT scans, and MRI scans. I used to exercise a lot in the past, playing plenty of golf, which led to overextended ligaments. Now, with age, they said it couldn’t be cured, impossible. The doctor said the only option was to keep getting pain injections once a week. Each shot cost 220,000 Won, which came to about a million Won per month.

But as I was heading back to Daegu (home) from Naju Shrine, there was a time when I should have felt pain, but I didn’t. I even shared that experience on the bus. After experiencing this, I came back to Naju here for the second time today.

Let’s pray fervently for the official approval of Our Lady of Naju. Amen.
