๐ 620. A Confession from One Who Escaped the Grip of the False Prophet and Became a Volunteer
The dark influence of the false prophet K continued even after she had lured away all the volunteers from the Blessed Motherโs House in Naju. Her focus was on drawing those who had received great graces through the Blessed Mother of Naju to the side of her and her group. She even went as far as blocking people from visiting the Blessed Motherโs House by using harsh words. They traveled not only in the Naju parish but also to places like Busan and all around the country to slander me.
They sent spies to the first Saturday prayer meetings at the Blessed Motherโs House to gather information, then approached the pilgrims, especially those who were sharing testimonies of grace. Even though some pilgrims had received great graces while visiting the Blessed Motherโs House in Naju, they were led astray by K and spent a long time serving K and her group. However, through the intercession of the Blessed Mother, they were rescued and escaped, eventually becoming volunteers at the Blessed Motherโs House in Naju. This was the case with the couple, sister Victorina Oh and her husband.
When I heard the story of what the couple had gone through, I was deeply shocked and my heart ached greatly. K and her group not only left the Blessed Mother of Naju but, as time went by, they continued to speak ill of the Blessed Mother and obstruct her work. Victorina and her husband were originally Buddhists. When Victorina was about to give birth to their first child, she called a taxi to go to the hospital. However, her in-laws, who were the head family in the countryside, said, โHow dare you called a taxi? Give birth at home!โ and sent the taxi away.
Then, they told her to start doing nopjiggi (the task of preparing meals and snacks for those planting rice) the very next day after giving birth. Many workers were called to plant the rice paddies together and since she had to prepare the morning snacks, lunch, afternoon snacks and dinner, she could not even take care of her baby. However, the day after her first son was born, his eyes were severely swollen and puffy, oozing yellow discharge and he could not even open them.
Fortunately, after two weeks, he was able to open his eyes but even after that, he continued to cry, frequently startled and his breathing would stop and then return in cycles. From about four months old, he had a fluctuating high fever of 40ยฐC every day, vomiting even when given just water. He had up to ten seizures a day and spent the next two years like this. He was taken to several private clinics that were said to be the best and even visited university hospitals, but nothing helped.
After the baby fell into such a condition, there was no financial support from her in-laws and she could not forgive them. Her heart became desolate and she was also in poor health and struggled greatly. Since her father passed away when she was in the second year of middle school, she suffered from severe digestive issues, duodenal ulcers, liver disease and would vomit even after drinking water. She also had chronic nephritis to the extent that she almost received a kidney transplant. She felt as though she wanted to die alongside her child.
In the meantime, she had another child, a daughter, but the second child was mentally impaired due to a lack of motivation. Her husband went through three business failures, forcing the family to live with his parents. There, she endured all kinds of mistreatment and abuse from the in-laws, which led to severe mental and financial conflicts. This eventually turned her relationship with the in-laws into one of deep animosity. Her health deteriorated to the point where she considered giving up on life. Since she did not know God, she sought to heal her child and help her husband by visiting shamans for six years, spending large amounts of money on fortune-telling and rituals.
When her husband learned of this, he became deeply discouraged and the couple, along with their children, tried to take pills to end their lives, but it did not go as planned. It was then that she regained her senses, stopped visiting the temple and consulting the shaman and remembered the catechism she had received years earlier. She begged the Lord for forgiveness, saying, โI am a sinner and I am ready to die. Please let me die after knowing You.โ She went to church and prayed but their first child continued to suffer from a high fever and chills, barely eating and despite going to the hospital every day, the child continued to suffer, growing weaker and thinner.
To make matters worse, her husband, just a month after she started attending church, caused two traffic accidents while driving without a license. Their debt piled up and the pressure from creditors grew even stronger. The first child, despite visiting several hospitals and pharmacies, showed no improvement and became so exhausted that he could only lie in bed for about two months. Then, one day, a Catholic from the neighboring room suggested they go to the Blessed Motherโs House in Naju to pray.
On the day she first went on pilgrimage to the Blessed Motherโs House, praying for her sonโs healing, Victorina witnessed an elderly woman, who had been unable to walk, immediately healed upon arriving at the Blessed Motherโs House in Naju and threw away her cane. This gave Victorina the conviction that her child could also be healed. On that day, I, who had been in great pain for three days, went out to meet pilgrims, supported by others and was on my way back to my room.ย
I noticed sister Victorina, who was carrying her 6-7-year-old child on her back. Victorina, who had been at the back, was about to leave when I asked, โSister, what brought you here?โ and she replied, โI came because my child is sick.โ I told her, โThen, please have him sit here (in front of the statue of the Blessed Mother outside the old Chapel),โ and I prayed over her son while sprinkling holy water.
Immediately, her child, who had been unable to walk and had not been treated by any hospital, began to walk, became healthy and was completely cured of the chronic illness he had suffered from since birth. After that, Victorina started attending the First Saturday Prayer Meetings regularly.
When I began to write โThe Life Prepared by the Lordโ for the first time, she read the writings and was moved to repentance. She regretted her pride and repented for the sin of abortion, confessing herself as a sinner before the Lord and was born anew. She also accepted all the conflicts with her in-laws as her own fault and forgave both her in-laws and family members.
The Lord and the Blessed Mother of Naju bestowed grace upon Victorinaโs family, restoring their household, which had been on the brink of bankruptcy and blessing them with many great graces. Victorina was the first to be baptized. Then one day, during her pilgrimage to the Blessed Motherโs House, she met someone who approached her. That person led Victorina to sister K who introduced herself as a devoted collaborator of the Blessed Motherโs House in Naju.
