💌654. The Deep Valley of Hatred and Resentment, Which Lasted for Over a Decade, Was Filled with Love

I began the story by praying that sister C would feel her husband’s love. “There was a sister who married a doctor. At first, she was happy because she married a doctor but over time, she became unhappy because her husband was always busy. She wanted to spend time with him but he was never available, which caused constant frustration. So, she started meeting her friends more often. Her friends always seemed successful and happy.

Her friends’ husbands had better jobs and higher positions than her own husband, which made her feel like she was the only one who was unsuccessful and unhappy. She could not find satisfaction in her life. Eventually, one day, she decided to divorce her husband and said, ‘Honey, I can no longer live with you. Please divorce me.’ Her husband, unable to quit his job to meet her needs and spend more time with her, reluctantly agreed to the divorce.

She had already signed the divorce papers and was about to submit them but suddenly she felt a sharp pain in her lower abdomen. She went to the bathroom and discovered that she was bleeding. After going to another hospital and getting examined, she was diagnosed with terminal cancer of the uterus. The doctors said that surgery was no longer an option. Realizing that she did not have much time left to live, she thought, ‘What is the point of getting a divorce now?’

She changed her mind about the divorce and as she prepared for her final moments, began reflecting on her past. It was then that she began to realize just how much her husband had truly loved her. She had always thought he was indifferent toward her but as she faced death, she came to see that her own heart had been filled with distrust and resentment toward him. She had constantly compared him to others whom she considered more successful and distinguished.

She finally realized that she had been living pridefully, chasing only what was visible on the outside. So, she sincerely repented, went to confession and sought forgiveness from the Lord first. Then, she wrote a final letter (will) to her husband. Since she had asked for a divorce, she could not bring herself to speak to him directly, so she expressed everything in the letter.

She asked for forgiveness for how selfish she had been all along. Knowing that she would soon pass away, she told him to meet a good person after her death and live well. She also asked that if he remarried, he would show the same love to his new wife as he had shown her. She wrote several letters, confessing that she had not realized it before but was now truly grateful for her husband’s love and left them behind.

However, when her husband read the letters, they reaffirmed their love for each other. Embracing tightly, they asked for forgiveness and wept together for a long time. The next day, her husband conducted a reexamination at his hospital, hoping to find a way to save her. To their amazement, no abnormalities were found. This occurred because they sincerely repented, asked for forgiveness and sublimated their hearts with love. That is why the Lord touched her with His compassionate hands and healed her.”

After finishing the story, I said, “Sister, what matters is how you feel. You just need to open your heart. Your husband’s love is entirely directed toward you but it is because you have not opened your heart yet. Let us place our hands on our hearts and pray.” I then placed my hand on her chest and we prayed together.

“Jesus, please help sister C to feel. Although her husband’s approach was wrong, it was not done out of curiosity or malice nor was it intended to cause harm. He simply acted out of deep love, trying to make her his own. Please help her forgive with Semchigo as if she has been loved. Despite her husband’s great love, sister C was unable to feel it until now.

Lord Jesus, may You personally take the lead and gently touch sister C’s heart. Please transform her family into a new holy family community, built on the rock that shares love.” I prayed earnestly. Sister C began to sob quietly and soon, her cries became loud and heart-wrenching. Then, a soft, tender, and compassionate voice of the Lord was heard.

“My beloved Little Soul! Through your sacrifice and reparation, the tears of this soul, offered up in love, are truly tears of repentance. Therefore, my Mother’s sorrowful tears and your tears filled with earnest hope have become one and she will live the life of resurrection. However, pray constantly for her, so that she may not misuse her free will and join forces with the devil by managing the grace she has received well.”

Even after the prayer, she stayed in my arms, crying many tears and saying, “I have done so wrong.” The next day, filled with the grace of repentance, she returned home with a heart full of joy, love and peace. Then, I received a phone call from her. “Sister Julia, thank you so much for awakening me about being loved. I have attended every retreat up until now but my heart remained empty. I had even forgotten the word ‘love’ and lived a life full of emptiness and illusions…

I thought about killing myself several times and was struggling so much with severe depression. After receiving your prayer and feeling so much love, I realized how incredibly valuable and wonderful my husband is. As soon as I got home yesterday, I gave him three deep bows and sincerely asked for his forgiveness for everything I had done.

So, my husband also bowed like I did and said, ‘Honey, I was wrong. My approach was wrong.’ Then he cried, hugged me and we reconciled. Our love has now blossomed anew and a new life of resurrection has begun in our marriage, like a fresh start to our honeymoon phase. All of this is thanks to you, sister.”

I immediately said, “I was just briefly used as an instrument; it was not done by me. It is the good Lord who did this. I will pray that you may build a happy holy family and live in joy, peace and love from now on.” As I spoke on the phone, tears of joy began to flow down my cheeks.
