๐Ÿ’Œย 665. Jesus Saved My Mother, Who Was Doomed to Die from a Concussion

When I opened a beauty parlor, I started with borrowed money. However, by working hard and doing my best, the Lord blessed me. About two years after opening, on August 27, 1982, I was able to purchase two plots of land along the main road across from Dong-shin University: one measuring 400 Pyeong (approximately 1,322 square meters) and the other 430 Pyeong (approximately 1,422 square meters). On the 400-Pyeong plot, we planted plum trees and on the 430-Pyeong plot, my mother, who helped with household chores, planted vegetables and chili peppers whenever she had the time.

Although I did not want her to overwork herself, knowing how hard it might be for her, my mother insisted on doing it. I told her, โ€œMother, please do not overdo it.โ€ Thanks to her, we did not have to buy vegetables and I was deeply grateful for her love as she personally grew the food we ate. When the chili peppers we planted ripened to be bright red, my mother picked them and dried them on the second-floor rooftop of our house.

However, the landlord who lived on the second floor said, โ€œYoung lady, the house gets hot, so I need to sprinkle water on the roof. Please take the peppers down right away.โ€ Although I knew the landlord had air conditioning, I complied, with Semchigo as if we were allowed to use the rooftop. Then, my mother said she would dry the peppers on the third floor, which was built haphazardly with slate and was located even higher than the second-floor rooftop.

It was dangerous because stepping on any part of the slate, except for the areas where nails were fixed, could cause it to collapse. I was so worried that I told her, โ€œMother, let us not bother drying the peppers and just sell them all.โ€ But my mother replied, โ€œWe should eat what we grow ourselves. The ones sold in stores are sprayed with too much pesticide, which is not good.โ€ So I said, โ€œThen, mother, please be careful not to hurt yourself.โ€

So, my mother began drying the chili peppers on the third-floor rooftop, made of slate next to the stairs. One evening, while I was busy styling a customerโ€™s hair, I suddenly heard a loud โ€œcrash!โ€โ€”a thunderous sound like a storm. I briefly thought, โ€œWhat happened and where did that come from?โ€ but then quickly returned to offering up my Prayers of Life and focused on cutting hair diligently.

Then, suddenly, a bargirl who worked at the bar in front of my beauty parlor rushed into the shop. Her voice breathless and frantic. She said, โ€œSister! What are you doing? Your mother fell from the third-floor rooftop! She is lying there, unable to open her eyes. She might die! How can you just keep doing hair?โ€ Startled beyond words, I dropped the scissors and comb I was holding and rushed out of the parlor. When I reached my mother, she was already unconscious.

Back then, there was no 911-emergency service. In my desperation, I carried my mother on my back, crying out to Jesus as I rushed to the hospital. The doctor at the hospital said, โ€œShe has lost too much blood. We cannot say for certain whether she will survive or if she will pass away due to the concussion. We will need to monitor her for about 24 hours to determine what will happen.โ€

I cried and continued praying fervently. Then, at that moment, my mother opened her eyes and gazed at me quietly as I wept. She could not speak but she simply nodded and gave me a reassuring look as if to say not to worry, that everything would be okay. Still, I kept crying and prayed desperately.

โ€œOh! My Love, my Lord! You cannot take my mother now, who has lived a life full of suffering and hardship. Please save her. I believe that You, for whom nothing is impossible, will do this.โ€ As I cried out in prayer, I heard the gentle voice of the Lord.

โ€œMy beloved Little Soul! Do not worry. I have granted your earnest plea. If it were not for your heartfelt supplication, she would no longer be in this world.โ€ I asked, โ€œReally? Was it that dangerous?โ€ โ€œYes, it was,โ€ He replied. โ€œWith the fervent love you offer through your sacrifices and reparations, which always comforts Me, I joined that love with Mine and saved her. Rest assured. To know just how dangerous the situation was, go to the scene and you will see.โ€

I responded, โ€œAmen! Thank You, Lord! I believe that Jesus saved my mother. Amen!โ€ As soon as the Lordโ€™s words ended, my mother, who had been staring at me as I cried, nodded slightly and said, โ€œIt is okay. It is okay.โ€ I asked, โ€œMother! Are you alright?โ€ My mother sat up as if nothing had happened and said, โ€œYes, dear, let us go. I am fine now. So let me go home.โ€

Filled with immense joy, I thanked the Lord in prayer, then took my mother home from the hospital. Afterward, I rushed to the scene, and what I saw was truly terrifying. At the center of the spot where my mother had fallen, there was a large pile of wooden planks, full of nails here and there, brought from a demolished house.

My mother first fell at that spot, then tumbled backward to the lower floor, hitting her head hard on not just ordinary cement but on a floor reinforced with terrazzo tiles. Despite this, there was not a single mark from nails or any injury on her head or body. She was completely healed. Seeing that, I was so astonished that I quickly rushed back to her, frantically inspecting her clothes and body to check if there was even a small hole or tear anywhere in her skirt.

But there were no nail marks, no scars, nothing at allโ€”she was perfectly fine. โ€œOh, wondrous mystery of love! Lord, may You alone receive glory, praise, adoration, and gratitude. Amen.โ€ Even though she was the landlady and had air conditioning, she insisted on watering the rooftop, ordering us to immediately remove the peppers my mother had spread out to dry, which led to her to this accident. However, I offered it up with Semchigo as if being loved by them and accepting it as our fault for spreading out the peppers and I always treated the landlady with kindness.
