💌 483. In order to combine a home and a beauty parlor

It was frightening to leave work late at night because my parlor was far away from home. I also had to consider my children’s education. So, I was thinking, “I wish I had a beauty parlor with a space to be used as a private home.” Then, one day, a lady living downhill from my beauty parlor came to see me. "Dear, have you ever considered moving your beauty parlor to another place?" "Huh? It is a sudden question." "Well, we are planning to build a two-story building down there."

"Is that so? When are you going to build it?" "We will do it now. On the 1st floor, we will build two shops, each of which will have a private home. If you need one, let me know. I am telling you this because I hope one of them could be used as a beauty parlor." "Let me think about it." A few days later, the lady came to me again. "Dear, please let me know quickly if you want to have one. If you do not want to, I will tell Cosmos Beauty Parlor to come. So, please let me know promptly. Okay?"

"What is the square footage of the shop and how many rooms are planned for a home?" "We aim to maximize the spaciousness of the shop and the residence will have approximately three rooms." Upon hearing it would have three rooms, I thought it was perfect because I strongly wished to allocate a room for my children and my mother and additionally, another room for the hairdressers I employed.

I thought, “Is this what Jesus, Who knows my heart, has prepared for me?” Then I quickly said, “Oh, then I will have one.” She said, “You do? Let us swiftly sign the contract before I give it to anyone else. I will even make an attic for storing items.” I replied, “Yes, I will speed it up after discussing it with my husband.” The following day, I signed the contract for the house and shop which were yet to be built.

As for the other shop right next to mine, a rice seller contracted to lease it. At first, it operated as a rice store but later, a dry cleaner took its place for some unknown reason. The landlady, claiming a shortage of funds for constructing the building, requested the lease deposit upfront. However, being busy with the repayment of debts, I did not have money on hand. So I asked for a little more time. However, she said, “Then, the owner of Cosmos Beauty Parlor is eager to come. Can I offer it to her?”

Cosmos Beauty Salon used to be the most popular salon in the surrounding area until my Jeong Beauty Salon was opened. Feeling anxious at her words, I had no choice but to borrow another 3 million won from the Credit Union to pay the lease deposit. A while later, I heard that the building had been completely constructed. So, I went to see it with excitement, only to find that there was only one room.

When I asked the landlady about it, she said, “Once the completion inspection has been carried out, I will make two more rooms for you.” She added that I could move in on a certain date. As I trusted her words completely, I decided to move on that date. Then, I completed all the preparations necessary for the move in time for the promised date. And finally, I was supposed to move the next day. But the landlady suddenly said that since the completion inspection had not been done yet, we should move on a later date.

I was greatly perplexed, but I offered it up to the Lord with Semchigo as if I had moved. However, she changed the moving date not only one time but several times. The moving date kept getting delayed and the completion inspection had not been carried out quickly, so I had a very hard time and suffered a huge financial loss. It was because if I had put my current salon up for sale through a real estate agent, I could have received a high premium since my salon was thriving.

However, because we were relocating right downhill from the current location, I had cut my losses and already sold my current salon to those who would start a different business. Furthermore, as I had contracted with them after considering our planned moving date, those who took over my salon had to come as contracted. However, with the moving date continuously being postponed, I had no choice but to pay a penalty fee to them.

I felt so sorry for unintentionally causing them harm. However, offering it up to the Lord as a fault of mine who made the contract, I offered up with Semchigo as if I received love, praying that as many people as the amount of money I lost might repent. After going through such twists and turns, I went to the newly constructed building to clean in preparation for the move. However, despite their promise to add two additional rooms for us after the completion inspection was completed, there was only one room!
